Irish Dancing Classes are a combination of:
Step / Solo - Reels, Jigs, Hornpipes, Trads & Figure / Ceilí - Teams
Currently running:
Tower - Irish dancing - ongoing classes for kids and teens weekly - adult/private classes by appointment only - Fridays
Blarney - Irish dancing - since 1995! - weekly classes for kids and adults - Mondays
From 2024 / Later:
ID in Clon - kids and adults - Wednesdays - new since 2018
ID in other locations - details to be confirmed
ID Kids classes in Tower/Blarney:
* Discounts for siblings
*Dance school t-shirt/bag etc supplied each full term
* Social skills * Posture * Confidence * Cúpla focail
* Listening skills * Co-ordination & Make new friends
* Positive behaviour encouraged with rewards / seasonal treats
* Parents do not attend group classes, however if a private/small class,
parent/guardian must remain present if less than 2 dancers.
* New terms start in February & September each year.
We have limited places, with a wait list for those interested.
New dancers/transfers and beginner/advanced welcome where places permit.
* Our focus is on grade exams to develop confidence and
travel to encourage appreciation of culture.
We do take part in competition but they are not our main focus
- so there is no pressure on kids to compete unless it's what they really want.
ID Teen classes in Tower:
* Beginner to advanced
* Dance school t-shirt/bag etc supplied each full term
* Take grade exams, perform in displays, travel or just dance for fun.
ID Adult classes in Blarney:
* Danced as a child? * Miss the craic?
* Dance for fitness and fun or go all the way to TCRG/TMRF
* Group, small or private classes - from beginner to advanced levels
* Dance for fun or go all the way to TCRG!
TCRG/TMRF Teacher Training:
* Teacher training - internationally recognised professional teaching qualifications
- train to be a qualified teacher in as little as six to twelve months (TMRF only with plenty of home practice and study)
- full TCRG training will take two to three dedicated years!
* 12 Grade Exams required
* You can take up to 3 exams at a time, every 3 months
* Group classes or individual grind style 1:1 classes
* Prepare to take the professionally recognised TCRG or TMRF exams at your pace
* If you have previously taken grade exams, you can start from where you left off,
as long as you have copies of both the certs and the marks sheets for each grade
Information for School Principals / TY Co-ordinators:
* Dancing can be part of your school curriculum for primary/secondary school
* Weekly classes all year or short-term
* We can upload a page on our website with secure access, which has video lessons you/your teachers
can use to assist teach your pupils at your own pace or assist with practice what our teachers show in classes.
* Lessons for your pupils in your school during the school day
* Your pupils can entre the Irish Dancing Schools Mini Munsters (Fó-chomortaisí Rince na Mumhan) when ready
* Your pupils can take grade exams (Internationally recognised syllabus exams)
* Assistance with your school plays/concerts
* We can provide training to your teachers in teaching dancing so you can roll out to your pupils
(your teachers can quality as TMRF to teach céilí and figure dancing or TCRG depending on their ability)
* You can pay the teacher directly as a staff member or we can bill you monthly for the services
