Céadfaí - FAQs

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Q Why sometimes do candles only burn in the middle and not out to the edge?
A This is referred to as the burn pool, which should reach out to the edge of the glass. The first time you light the candle, allow it light until all the wax turns to liquid at the top - this means it has reached the edge of the glass/tealight edge. This will prevent the candle burning in a funnel leaving a lot of unused aromatic wax hugging the edge of the glass.

Q Why do I see heavy black smoke with some candles in comparison to Céadfaí candles?
A We do not use petroleum based products or fragrance which is synthetic. Some candle makers advertise they use a natural wax but then still use fragrance which is synthetic. We don't take half measures! We use natural products which are plant based. This means there are only naturally grown base ingredients which cause naturally occurring chemical reactions. So no heavy black smoke as evident from synthetic ingredients. There will always be a little smoke of course as you are burning a candle! Keeping the wick trimmed and not burning candles near a draught will ensure even less smoke.

Q How do I best use Céadfaí products?
A  Please see further product information below which offers safety advice and tips on use.

Q What does Céadfaí mean?
A  It's Irish (gaeilge) for Senses.

Q Can I return products if I'm unhappy with them or find a fault?
A Yes of course. We want you to be totally happy with our products, if you're not completely satisfied please let us know. We do our best to ensure all products are of top quality. However as with everything in life, there are bound to be minimal issues where for example one in a hundred or so wicks may not burn perfectly. We'd prefer if there is ever an issue that we hear about it asap so we can do our best to resolve it. Constructive feedback is always welcome.

Q Why are some candles white and some more creamy/yellow?
A We use natural essential oils. These oils vary from pale/opaque to dark orange/brown. So a variation in colour will result from when different oils are used.

Q What products are used in the candles?
A Natural plant based wax, natural essential oils (organic as much as is possible) and lead free eco wicks.

Diffusers & Home Fragrance - Safer Range
On opening box, remove the reeds. Remove the glass container. Unscrew the silver/gold lid, remove the plastic holding insert, replace the silver/gold lid. Place the reeds down into the bottle and spread them apart from each other. Sit on a steady shelf/area out of reach of children and pets. Enjoy the aroma for up to six weeks. Note, it takes a few days for the reeds to soak up the oils, and allow the scent to flow.

Remember the size of the room will dictate how strong the smell is. For example in a small room such as a utility/bathroom there will be a stronger impact than in a large living/dining/open plan room.

CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN & PETS
X Never place near a naked flame or a heat source.
X Never attempt to light a diffuser reed/stick.
X Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
X Do not place on polished, painted, plastic, leather, fabric surfaces or on electrical appliances as accidental    spillage may cause damage to some materials.

CAUTION FOR ALL AROMATIC PRODUCTS:
X Caution for use for anyone who may suffer from allergic reactions/perfume/aroma sensitivity. If in contact with the skin wash with soap and water.
